Do solar cycles affect the mood of
civilization?
In 1989 (and again in 1997) Iain Spence published an article entitled "The Sekhmet Hypothesis" - a play on the 'Gaia Hypothesis' - which theorizes about a youth movement called Stormers predicted to emerge in 1999.
In 1999, Sleaze Nation, inspired by Spence's work, wrote an article elaborating on the relationship between sociocultural movements, psychological patterns and solar cycles, which can be said to have produced Hippies in 1966, Punks in 1977 and Ravers in 1988.
In 2007, we revisit these ideas once again.
