In Washington, a trail of money leads from interest group to lobbyist to politician and back to interest group multiplying hundred fold along the way at the cost of taxpayers and the many things that go underfunded. The tight connection between Congress and lobbyists has lead to a great influx of soft money in re-election campaigns.
