Do you know what your organic food is eating?

In October 2002, the USDA took over the responsibility of enforcing the “Organic” label. Since then, lobbyists for major farming companies have tried to persuade lawmakers to make exceptions to organic standards to accompany their clients’ desires to save money or make a larger profit.

With all this corruption going on, regulations for the labeling of organic foods have become faulty because of vague language, loop holes, weak standards and a lack of enforcement by the USDA. Considering this, how can you know what labels to trust? How do you know what’s going into your food?

This document is an introduction to what is currently occurring in the organic food industry. It will provide you with resources on how to learn more about the subject so you can spend your money on agricultural practices you believe in.
